Seattle Music Partners Elementary Music Mentoring!
Tutoring instrumental music with Seattle Music Partners is an opportunity to join a team of other musicians eager to serve our community, earn service learning hours, gain teaching experience, receive teacher training and improve your musicianship!
As a volunteer tutor, you will work with an elementary school student at one of four Central District schools (after school) once a week. We offer lessons at Leschi, Lowell, Madrona, and Gatzert Elementary Schools.
In addition to teaching students to read music and play an instrument, volunteers serve as role models and mentors. No prior teaching experience is necessary for any of our volunteer positions.
We are looking for musicians (high school-aged and older) with:
- Strong music skills
- A passion for working with children
- An interest in community service
We offer one-on-one positions on clarinet, saxophone, flute, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and percussion (snare and xylophone).

6. Read and reply to emails or phone calls from program staff.
7. Comply with rules regarding conduct in public schools and safe supervision of students.
8. Be high school aged or older.
