This has been changed to a day trip only, where we will learn the skills and techniques to camping out in the winter, to build snow caves and igloos, and learn what gear is needed.

This trip will explore an area near Steven's Pass. We will be cross country skiing and carrying packs so we will not be traveling long distances (2 miles at most per day). There will be plenty of time to ski into the campsite and set up camp. Depending on the weather conditions there may be the opportunity to learn how to build snow caves. Participants will learn winter camping, basic avalanche awareness, and cross-country skiing skills. On Sunday, we will go for a long ski tour without the big packs. No experience is necessary.

Destination: On Saturday, we will meet at Overlake and drive over Stevens Pass to an area for cross-country skiing.

Overlake will provide all food, skis, and tents.

Please let me know if you need to borrow a backpack, sleeping bag, or sleeping pad.

Everyone will need to print out, sign, and bring the Permission Form the first day
