Summit Hike

This is your chance to summit a peak in the Cascades.  We will hike up a trail to the summit to enjoy the 360 degree views.

Rock climbing

5, 6, 7, 8

We will be heading to some crags up I-90 for a day of rock climbing.  You will learn about climbing outdoors, belaying, and rappelling.  Overlake will provide all harnesses, climbing shoes, and helmets.

7th/8th Backpacking the Cascades

7, 8

This is a chance for our 7th and 8th graders to head into the Cascades for a backpacking trip.  We will backpack into an alpine lake and set up camp.  The next day, we will hike up to some upper lakes where the views are even better.

Alpine Lakes Wilderness

Kayaking
US Kayaking a mountain lake

We will be heading up to a mountain lake for some alpine paddling. 

All kayaking gear will be provided.

Everyone will need to print out, sign, and bring the Permission Form the first day: Outdoor Permission Form

Hiking

We are going to head out for a hike on a trail in the Cascades with a beautiful lake or a mountain viewpoint as our goal. Exact trail will be determined later, but probably near Snoqualmie Pass. (due to weather, trail conditions, etc)

This trip is for the students in the Outdoor Education class only.

This trip will go to a popular sport climbing venue (Vantage/Frenchman's Coulee). Students will learn the basics of climbing, belaying, repelling, rope-handling, and all of the safety aspects of rock climbing. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED.

Kayaking the Slough
US Kayaking the Sammamish Slough / River Clean-up

We will launch our kayaks in the Sammamish Slough in downtown Redmond and paddle to Woodinville. In the Fall, the Slough is full of wildlife, including
