The Heroic Power Fantasy - the idea of being the superhero, saving the innocent and destroying the evil that preys upon them. While this is the core of the fantasy role-playing aka Dungeons and Dragons experience, Teamwork and Tactics to tackle Dungeons of Dragons will be a full week campaign experience in which we take the power fantasy to the next level - how do you assemble and work with a team of others to take your heroics to the next level? We will look at how teams are assembled both in the game and in media to ensure all bases are covered - do you have your heavy hitter? Your super intelligent walking library? Your healer? Your group talker? We will also look at tabletop RPG's from a tactical standpoint, using positioning and teamwork to make your group more than the sum of its parts. During this week students will play and create their own heroines and heroes in the Pathfinder 2nd Edition game, a tactically based version of Dungeons and Dragons, starting with the Strength of Thousands Adventure Path for a 1st through 11th level experience as time permits. Gaming will occur virtually using the Foundry Virtual Table Top, with games occurring in person on campus.

Special Considerations

Students will need to bring their laptops to school for this Project Week.

Participants must be willing to follow COVID guidelines.  Participants should only attend illness free. If a participant should test positive for COVID during the project, the student will be isolated, and the student’s family will be required to pick them up at their current location.  The family will bear all the costs associated with the student pick up.

By selecting the above project, you and your family are accepting the financial responsibility for the cost of the projects.  This includes any unrecoverable expenses incurred if Overlake, or any federal, state or local government forces cancelation of the project, or if you or your family decide not to attend, or if your student becomes symptomatic and has to be isolated.
