Summer Program 2018

While June may seem far off, it's right around the corner for Nate Edmunds, Overlake's Summer Program Director.

"I've been busy planning for what promises to be a fantastic summer on campus. We have a dynamic mix of middle school options, as well as new camps for third and fourth graders," explains Edmunds.

Summer 2018 at Overlake is what you might call a 2.0 refresh mode. “We have a few years under our belt with the summer program and now we want to enhance the program,” explains Edmunds. “We looked at data from past participants, talked with campers and their families, and met with our teachers to understand areas we can improve.”

The first enhancement to the program has to do with its participants. “We know that 8-10 year olds are hungry for fun and substantive summer camps, and we have a great group of Overlake teachers who are eager to work with them,” says Edmunds.

So, Overlake is offering camps for the first time for incoming 3rd and 4th graders, providing camps in engineering, science, athletics, and the arts.

Also new this year: Overlake has lowered the cost of each half-day camp to $175/week and refined the registration process to ensure that campers get into one of their top two choices for each session. In other words, no cancellations!

Summer 2018 at Overlake also means transportation assistance in the mornings. A morning bus route will pick up campers at the Bellevue Eastgate Rite Aid (7:25am) and Clyde Hill 92nd Lid (7:45am) for $28.75/week.

"We hope that this option makes our camps more accessible for families,” explains Edmunds. "I'm glad we're able to use our own Overlake bus fleet and drivers to assist us."

Finally, Overlake has multiple discounts available: Sign up for multiple camps and take 10% off each camp; Sign up before April 1 and take an additional 10% off

These new elements to the summer program make it even more appealing to spend the summer at Overlake!
