Two Sentence Horror Story Contest!

This fall, the students were offered three choices for a November contest: Scenes from a Hat, Fortune Cookie Contest, or Two-Sentence Horror Story Contest. They chose the latter, and here are the faculty-chosen winners for scary and funny stories.

Third Place

Cold water drifted methodically along the stone floor of the eerie passageway, as the wind blew in my ears. I turned the corner, trying to ignore the sinister creak of the lantern’s handle until I came face-to-face with a mirror – and I realized that there lay the greatest monster of all. --Andrea, 8th

Honorable Mention

There was a girl swimming in the lake as it snowed. When I returned, the lake had frozen over; but no footprints left the lake. --Rylie, 8th

I was walking down a dimly lit hallway, with nothing around, then I heard a loud growl. I feared there was a monster behind me, and I turned around, expecting a huge beast; turns out I was very hungry. --Mia, 7th
