Baldwin Bag Challenge

NW Harvest

There’s still time to join the Baldwin Bag Challenge before the end of the year! Before Thanksgiving, English teacher Jenni Baldwin was inspired after hearing the story of a man who was impacted by the work of Northwest Harvest after experiencing food scarcity.

Baldwin and her husband decided to donate to Northwest Harvest’s Home Team Harvest event. One bag of groceries per person in honor of each family member they would not be able to gather with this Thanksgiving. She challenged her friends and family along with members of the Overlake community to follow suit and donate in honor of friends and family they would not be able to see in person. So far, 975 virtual bags of groceries have been donated to Northwest Harvest, which adds up to over 20,000 meals provided. The challenge goes through the end of the year.

To get involved, visit your local Safeway or Albertsons and add on a donation to your purchase at checkout or donate online here. To have your donations counted towards the Baldwin Bag Challenge count, tag #baldwinbagchallenge2020 and #nwharvest on social media.
