A Note from the Editor

Dear fellow Overlake Alums,

As I am finishing the final touches on this edition of the Overlake Alum ENews, I am struck by what these five interviews tell us about ourselves: that among other things, we are resilient, compassionate, generous, curious, adventurous, ambitious, and public-spirited. We have the skills and experience and inner strength to face the world as it is, imperfect and needing us to be our best selves.

We now have three major alumni events on campus annually that bring Owls of multiple generations together: The Distinguished Alumni Award in October, Grads Return in the New Year, and Making a Life Day in late January. Each of these events allows us to share what we are learning in life after Overlake with young Owls. It also provides an opportunity to connect with the faculty, staff, and coaches who influenced us for the long haul, to express our gratitude. If you are interested in participating in any of these annual events, I hope that you will reach out to me.

I’m here to support and serve our Overlake Alumni community. Please join me!

Sincerely,

Christian Fulghum ‘77

Director of Alumni Engagement
