Gretchen warner Gretchen Warner Head of School

Welcome, and thank you for visiting our Leadership page.

It is an honor to serve as Head of School and to introduce you to the people dedicated to guiding Overlake’s mission, vision, and values.

At Overlake, we champion students and their vast potential through engaging learning experiences in a diverse and inclusive community. We believe every student is a whole person, and that education should nurture intellect, character, compassion, curiosity, integrity, and a sense of purpose.

The work of the Head, Senior Leadership Team, and Board begins with being learners ourselves. We lead by listening to students, reflecting on our practices, and growing alongside our community. This approach keeps us grounded in long-held traditions while preparing us to meet the needs of a changing world.

You will see this commitment throughout campus in our curriculum, in the relationships between students and educators, in our focus on well-being, and in our ongoing efforts toward inclusive excellence. We strive to help young people define success not only through achievement but through empathy, integrity, and meaningful contribution.

As you explore this page, I invite you to get to know the leaders who serve with humility, dedication, and a shared belief in the power of an Overlake education.

Whether you are a prospective family, an alum, or a first-time visitor, thank you for your interest in our school. We hope you feel the heart of our community, one that is grounded in its values and inspired by the promise of every student.

Sincerely,
Gretchen Warner

How can I join the Board of Trustees?

The School seeks to fulfill any Trustee positions with members of the community who hold skills and experiences related to the particular board committee opening. For example, the personnel committee is comprised of trustees who have experience in work related to human relations.

The School, along with consultation from the Executive Committee of the Board, has developed a robust succession plan that ensures the Board has full representation on all committees. Any candidate identified for a trustee position participates in a long-term vetting process, which allows for a smooth transition and continuation of important work. Trustees commit to a multi-year term of volunteer service.
