Scholarship Opportunities

All eligible dreamers deserve a shot at an Overlake education.

Since 2007, Overlake has offered the Malone Scholars Program through an endowment from the Malone Family Foundation. The Overlake School is the only school in Washington to receive this endowment, which awards academically promising students the resources to attend an institution that will optimally prepare students for college and beyond.

To be eligible for the Malone Scholars Program, an applicant must:
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Meet all Overlake admissions and enrollment requirements
  • Demonstrate strong academic performance through grades and test scores
  • Strive for a college preparatory education
  • Show enthusiasm and motivation for learning
  • Have a demonstrable financial need of at least 30% of school costs
  • Be applying to or entering grades 7-12

Have questions? Reach out to our Admissions office; we're here to help.

Important details about the Malone Scholars Program:
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship is required
  • Even if your child doesn't qualify for Malone Scholar status, other financial aid options may be available to make Overlake accessible for your family

Frequently Asked Questions

Our financial aid packages are based entirely on what families need. We don't offer grants for merit or athletics.

We use Clarity, an online platform, to help us understand your family's financial situation based on the information you share, including income, assets, expenses, and debts.

Applications submitted through Clarity require a $60 fee, but this fee is automatically waived for qualifying families. We encourage you to review our financial aid program guide for more information on how our financial aid program works, and who we serve.

If you can't complete your full application by the deadline, submit last year’s tax documents and a draft of this year’s tax return in order for the financial aid committee to provide an initial offer contingent on receiving finalized tax documents.

Tuition is only part of the cost of attendance at Overlake, and any financial aid award also includes support for the following:

  • Tuition
  • Meals and snacks
  • Project Week
