How to Apply
Start your adventure at Overlake by creating a Ravenna account. Your initial application includes a fee of:
- $50 for domestic students
- $200 for international students (those outside the U.S. or needing a student visa)
Need help with fees? Just reach out to admissions@overlake.org; we're here to make this journey smooth for you.
Tell us your story through our application materials. Families share a brief Parent/Guardian Statement, while students express themselves in a personal essay and Activities & Interest Form.
These items help us get to know the whole person—their background, what lights them up, and how they might thrive as part of our Overlake community. It's not merely obligatory paperwork; it's the beginning of your adventure with us.
Grade 5-8 applicants need to submit a standardized test score from the past year. We accept any standardized test, including state tests like MAP or SBA, or national tests like SSAT or ISEE.
For grades 9-11, we require an SSAT or ISEE score from the current application year. We'll review one test score per applicant, and we don't combine scores from multiple tests.
We want to get to know your child through their teachers' eyes. Here's how to get those evaluations:
- Grades 5-6: Ask one current core teacher for their insights, plus another teacher (current or past) who knows your child well.
- Grades 7-12: Request one evaluation from your English/Social Studies teacher and another from your Math/Science teacher.
Here are the official school records we need:
- Grades 5-6: Report cards from 2024-25 and the first term/semester of 2025-26.
- Grades 7-12: Report cards from 2023-24, 2024-25, and the first term/semester of 2025-26
Just use the Common Records Request Form in Ravenna to send these our way. It's simple and helps us get to know the whole student.
Grades 5-6: Applicants join a group activity with other applicants, led by one of our faculty or staff members. While your child is engaged in the activity, parents and guardians will meet with a member of our admissions team. Everyone gets to tour campus during this visit.
Grade 9: Applicants interview in pairs with a staff or faculty member. While students are in their interviews, parents and guardians can take a small campus tour.
All other grades: For non-traditional entry grades, interviews aren't required unless our admissions team determines it would be helpful.
