Overlake strongly prefers to receive SSAT scores from all applicants. The score report, along with the other application documents, allows our admission committee to assess an applicant’s readiness for the Overlake curriculum. Students who take the SSAT will also have access to take the Character Skills Snapshot at no additional cost. Students who take the ISEE will be required to pay an additional $35 to take the Character Skills Snapshot.

In order to ensure that all test scores are in by the January 16 deadline, Upper School applicants must take the SSAT exam on or before January 4, while Middle School applicants must take the exam on or before February 8. Overlake will offer the SSAT in December and January. If the applicant is not able to take the SSAT, we will accept the ISEE instead. For 11th and 12th grade applicants, we will accept PSAT or ACT scores in lieu of the SSAT.

Character Skills Snapshot

We require that all applicants to grades 6-12 take the Character Skills Snapshot. For students who take the SSAT, there is no charge to take the Snapshot. Once you register for the SSAT, you will have access to The Snapshot. For more information: https://ssat.org/snapshot

For students who take the ISEE, please contact admission@overlake.org to gain access to the Snapshot. There is a $35 fee for ISEE test takers. Fee waivers are available for those in need.

The Character Skills Snapshot: Character and personal growth are an integral part of the Overlake education. We know that your child is more than just grades and test scores, so we are asking all applicants to take the Character Skills Snapshot to give us more information. The Snapshot will help us understand how your student would learn in our community.
