Overlake Athletics Delivers a Historic Spring Season
Three consecutive state championships in girls golf. Four straight state titles in girls tennis. A third consecutive Final Four appearance in baseball. A state semifinal run in boys lacrosse...This spring, Overlake athletes delivered one of the most successful seasons in school history, continuing a tradition of excellence across multiple programs.
Girls Golf: Three Straight State Championships
The Overlake Girls Golf team continued their remarkable run, capturing their third consecutive state championship.
After an undefeated regular season, the Owls dominated postseason play, earning eight of the district's 10 state tournament berths. At the state tournament in Spokane, seven Overlake golfers advanced to the second day of competition, while no other school had more than three players make the cut.
Overlake also placed five additional golfers in the top 20, showcasing the depth that has become a hallmark of the program. The Owls finished with 133 team points, nearly triple that of the runner-up school.
Girls Tennis: Four Consecutive State Titles
Girls Tennis continued their run, capturing a fourth straight team state championship and setting a school record.
Senior Sarina Z. took home her second individual state singles title, while seniors Allie P. and Sae K. won the state doubles championship. With state champions in both singles and doubles competition, the Owls once again demonstrated the depth and strength of the program.
Their combined performances secured the team title and continued Overlake's dominance at state.
Baseball: Back to the Final Four
For the third consecutive season, Overlake baseball advanced to the State Final Four—an accomplishment unmatched by any other program across Washington's classifications.
After winning the state championship in 2024, the team once again demonstrated their ability to compete with the state's best teams and extend their playoff run.
Three straight Final Four appearances further cement the program as one of the state's premier baseball teams.

Boys Lacrosse: Semifinal Run
Boys Lacrosse enjoyed one of their best seasons in recent memory, with a nine game winning streak on their way to earning a trip to the state semifinals and finishing tied for third in the state.
The run is another significant step forward for the growing program.
Boys Golf
Three Owls qualified for the state tournament with Junior Zidan S., finishing 16th out of 60 in the state after a strong second-round performance.
Boys Tennis
Building on last year's state championship, the Boys Tennis team continued its outstanding tradition with a second-place team finish at state. Senior leaders helped deliver another great season with multiple doubles teams placing in at state.
The program also earned recognition off the court. The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) named Overlake's Boys Tennis team the Academic State Champion in its classification, recognizing the team for posting the highest GPA in the state at 3.88. The honor marks Overlake's third Academic State Championship this school year, following awards earned by Girls Soccer and Boys Basketball, and the 31st Academic State Championship in school history.
A Season to Remember
Championship trophies, Final Four appearances, state semifinal runs, and individual titles all contributed to a spring season that will be remembered as one of the finest in Overlake history.
With strong performances across nearly every spring sport, the numbers are impressive, but the broader story is even more important: teamwork and strong leadership across the programs, and a community that continues to support each other with sportsmanship. Together, these accomplishments reflect the strength of Owl athletics and the school's commitment to developing students who excel both in competition and in the classroom.
