Pre-Order Books for Author Visit in May: Rajani LaRocca
Visiting Author Rajani LaRocca
May 1, 2023, 12:50 PM
Rajani LaRocca was born in Bangalore, India, and immigrated to the U.S. as a baby, spending her childhood in Kentucky. After attending Harvard College and Harvard Medical School, she has acted as a physician since 2001. She and her family (and an impossibly cute dog!) live in Massachusetts. She has always been an omnivorous reader – cereal boxes, comic books, fortune cookie fortunes, magazine articles, and, of course, novels. The books she read as a child helped shape who she is today; inspired her to pursue medicine; made her yearn to live in different worlds; and helped her consider what it’s like to walk in someone else’s shoes. She believes that promoting diversity in children’s literature leads to empathy, and empathy makes the world a better place. --Paraphrased from: https://www.rajanilarocca.com/about/
Ms. LaRocca’s books include Midsummer's Mayhem, Much Ado About Baseball, Newbery-Honor-winning Red, White, and Whole, and the newly released Mirror to Mirror.
Ms. LaRocca will speak to the entire Middle School on May 1 at 12:50 PM in Fulton. Books will be available for pre-order from Brick & Mortar Books, and a few will be available for student purchase on the day of the author's visit.
