Books I Have Loved 2020: Faculty/Staff Favorites

Books I Have Loved splash page with row of books and faculty names

A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies . . . The man who never reads lives only one.”   – George R.R. Martin

“The reading of all good books is like conversation with the finest (people) of the past centuries.”  – Descartes

Each year we ask the Overlake Faculty and Staff to name the best book(s) they read that year. Which book this year (or any year) gave them many more lives? Which book allowed them to converse with the people of the past? Which book made them forget to update Canvas, check their Insta feed, make brownies for their kid’s bake sale, or keep their movie date with your best friend? Which book opened their eyes and their mind in ways they never expected?

They responded in spades, and you can now fill your to-be-read list from their Books I Have Loved 2020 list. The list is organized alphabetically by the faculty/staff member's last name. Do be aware that the majority of these are adult titles, so this is not a list for younger students. As in the past, the booklist will be available on The Overlake Library web page.

Need even more titles for your list? Check out last's year's recommendations.

“In the case of good books, the point is not to see how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.”  – Mortimer J. Adler.”
