School Emergency Notification Testing Oct 10

emergency notification testing

With winter weather right around the corner and the chance for slippery roads and power outages, we will be testing our emergency notification system on Wednesday, Oct 10 and 10:00am.

During this time, you will receive an email, text, and phone message indicating a test of our system. This system will then be used throughout the school year to notify families about school closures due to a variety of emergencies, including inclement weather.

Prior to Wednesday’s test, go to your Veracross portal and please check all your contact information. New this year, Upper School students will be notified if their parent/guardian has put their contact information into the household profile update on the portal.

In addition to this notification, you may also sign up for a flash alert by clicking on the snowflake icon at the bottom of your MyOverlake page. The flash alert system is a third-party service that we subscribe to in order for The Overlake School to be shown at the bottom of television screens, along with other schools, during major weather events.

Thank you and remember test day is Wednesday, October 10.
