There is no better way to spend Earth Day than to be helping to improve the environment and our ability to get out and enjoy it. We will be working on a local hiking trail. We will be linking up with a local organization (WTA, Mountains to Sound, or Green Redmond).
We are going to head out for a hike on a trail in the Cascades with a beautiful lake or a mountain viewpoint as our goal. Exact trail will be determined later, but probably near Snoqualmie Pass. (due to weather, trail conditions, etc)
This trip will go to a popular sport climbing venue (Vantage/Frenchman's Coulee). Students will learn the basics of climbing, belaying, repelling, rope-handling, and all of the safety aspects of rock climbing. NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE NEEDED.
Diablo Lake is a beautiful spot in the North Cascades. The paddling is moderate, but the views are spectacular as we will go under waterfalls and get views of the Cascade peaks on a clear day. Look forward to the benefits of carrying deluxe meals on this trip.
