MS Lacrosse Clinics Return

lacrosse clinics

One of the many unique things a student can do at Overlake is to play lacrosse.  While the sport that has gained in popularity over the last decade, Overlake has a proud tradition of playing lacrosse for nearly 30 years.

This weekend, Overlake Athletics is inviting all middle schoolers to check out this growing sport. “For many kids in middle school, lacrosse is a new sport,” says MS Athletic Director Mike Fine. “It’s really hard when you’ve never played the game to just pick up a stick and play some games, so what these clinics do is bring kids together to figure out what the game is about, and then discover that it’s not too difficult.”

If kids can’t make it this Saturday, Fine says there are multiple opportunities for boys and girls to drop in over the next several weeks and develop the skills a player needs to have a fun experience playing lacrosse.  “We want to build some basic skills so that when we get to the spring, the kids will be good and comfortable about playing lacrosse so that we can play some games a couple weeks into the season,” adds Fine.

This year will we will be offering the clinics in the fall as well as the winter on select Saturday mornings.  We are planning to have clinics on the following dates:

  • Saturday, October 26
  • Saturday, November 2
