In this photo, a huge sinkhole covers a street intersection in downtown Guatemala City, Monday May 31, 2010. A day earlier, authorities blamed the heavy rains caused by tropical storm Agatha as the cause of the sinkhole that demolished a three-story building but now say they will be conducting further studies to determine the cause. This sinkhole killed 60 people inside. The building was crushed going down the hole.

We all know that finals are coming up and I will give you guys a little help on how to study. I talked to Sarah Moore. She says that for “I don’t really think flashcards are the best thing. Since there are a lot of topics to cover I basically use my notes and labs and even my old quizzes to see what I need to look over more.” That is how to study for science. Sarah also talks about history, English, and math. “In history since we have to be able to know every state in the United States I get a blank map and practice the whole night until I can do it easily.” Now we turn to George to tell us how he studies for history finals. “I learned the presidents by going over them to see the ones I know and then practice the ones I don’t know and learn them by repetition forward and back.” I study for math by looking over the study guides and making my own problems. In English all I do is read my poem over and over until it’s memorized.
Dear Orrin and Lyxma,
I have liked the same person for the whole year and we are REALLY good friends. They talk to me about the people they like and it’s never me! I find myself getting really sad and jealous which is not good. Time is running out and I don’t know how to tell them I like them even though I know they don’t like me. What do I say? Since I don’t have much time. They have liked like, everyone else but me! I’m really sad.

I am sympathetic; I’ve had the same problem in the past. You, though, are going to handle it better than I have. Don’t try bold attempts. Go subtle. Try smiling at him more, sending him notes in his cubby. Keep it appropriate, of course. Just be nice to him as much as you can. You never know! Good luck.

You may just want to not tell him. If you are already really good friends, then telling them you like them should not change anything. They may actually like you and just not be saying it to you because you’re right there. It may be hard for them to tell you, just like it’s hard for you to tell them. Good luck!
