Following the steps outlined below guarantees that your son or daughter’s application receives full consideration. We will review late applications on a space-available basis.

We offer a Sibling Early Decision (SED) option for families with a child already in attendance at Overlake. Please be aware that this timeline is significantly earlier than that for the Standard Application.

All Applicants

october / november
  • Attend an Open House Program.
    Reservations required.
    Click here to RSVP online.
    Please allow time to park and check in. The program begins promptly at the designated time, followed by a one-hour campus tour (wear your walking shoes). We'll conclude with refreshments and conversation.

    • Tour the campus.
    • Meet and talk with students, teachers, administrators, and parents.
    • Learn about Overlake's academic curriculum, special programs, athletics, Outdoor Education, Project Week activities, and campus life.
    • Families are welcome.

  • Attend a Tour and Information Session.

    Tour and Information Sessions are less formal than open houses. The number of guests is limited to allow for a small tour group experience.

    • See the campus and classrooms with a tour guide.
    • Meet with the Director of Admission to learn about the admission process. Includes a question-and-answer session for your specific information needs.
    • Parents and students are welcome.
    • Tours begin promptly at 9:30am from Discovery Hall. Please allow time to park and check in.
    • Information sessions are from 10:30am−11am in Discovery Hall.

Standard Application Timeline 2010-11

october
after november 15
  • Give the Teacher Evaluation forms to two teachers.
  • Give the Student Records Request form to your child's current school and to the school holding records from the past two academic years.
by december 9
  • Complete and submit the Initial Application and application fee* on or before December 9.
january
  • Remind teachers that Teacher Evaluation forms must be mailed or faxed so that our office receives them by January 13.
  • Remind current schools that transcripts be mailed or faxed so that our office receives them by January 13.
  • ISEE should have been taken or scheduled for no later than January 9.
february / march
  • Financial aid applications due by February 3.
  • Completed applicant files are under review.
march / april
  • Notification letters and financial aid awards are mailed March 17.
  • Enrollment contracts and deposits are due March 29.

Sibling Early Decision Timeline 2010-11

by october 12
  • Complete and submit the Initial Application and application fee* on or before October 12.
  • Register your child for the Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). The test must be taken no later than November 14, 2010 to meet our admission deadline.

    Please note that there will be a "closed" test date specifically for sibling applicants on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Register by phone or mail with ISEE.

  • SED Intent to Enroll forms due December 21, 2010.
  • SED Enrollment contracts and deposits are due
    February 15, 2011 for non Financial Aid families.
  • Financial aid applications due by February 3, 2011.

  • Please note that families applying for financial aid will receive their enrollment contract and financial aid award in mid-March. Refer to the financial aid page for detailed information.

*Please contact Admissions to inquire about an application fee sliding scale.
