Parent/Faculty/Staff Association
All parents/guardians of students, faculty, and staff are members of the Parent/Faculty/Staff Association known as PFSA. The purposes of PFSA are:
- to facilitate communication between parents/guardians of students, faculty, staff, and Board of Trustees of the school;
- to provide supplemental funds for the school through various fundraising events;
- to facilitate the establishment and maintenance of an effective learning environment for Overlake students, and
- to support the school and its programs.
All parents, guardians, faculty and staff are welcome to attend PFSA Board meetings as well as the general membership meetings. PFSA meetings are an excellent source of information about what is happening at Overlake.
The PFSA also sponsors an ongoing series of Parent Education Seminars on a variety of topics relevant to parenting in the 21st century, and ParentNet, a discussion program designed to facilitate communication, promote networking, and foster mutual support among parents of the same grade level.
PFSA members can volunteer in a number of ways. Individual Grade Representatives plan class social events for students and parents throughout the year and facilitate communication between the school and parents and guardians. The Teacher/Staff Appreciation Committee recognizes the faculty and staff for their contributions through special events, awards and treats. PFSA members also participate in the Annual Fund. The PFSA Volunteer Coordinator surveys the school's needs for volunteers and makes information about those volunteer positions available to parents.
